- why this is an important moment for Canada
The Presentation
The students will learn about the mission in a 25 minute presentation. The presenter, Trevor, will tell the story through slides on a screen or projector. Then using some planetarium software, will fly the students around the Moon in the same way the astronauts will fly on Artemis II.
The Activity
During the presentation, students will learn how the spacecraft will launch from Earth, fly to the Moon, and return back home.
The students will cut out pieces of paper and colour each of the major phases of the spaceflight. Then, they will tape wooden sticks to the back of each paper and can recreate the mission.
Presenter's Experience
The presenter is me, Trevor Kjorlien! From 2022-2023, I was lucky enough to work at the Canadian Space Agency. During this time, the crew of the Artemis II mission was announced.
I was fortunate enough to work several times with Jeremy Hansen, the Canadian astronaut who will fly on this mission.
