Adapted for Secondary Cycle Two, students will learn about how we find exoplanets – planets around other stars – and the conditions needed for life elsewhere in our galaxy.
All in a 360° immersive planetarium experience that students absolutely love.
Show Outline
- students enter the dome and see a daytime sky
- the Earth rotates, the Sun sets, and the stars begin to appear
- students will see the stars appear and we'll learn about constellations
- go up into space and see the Earth
- zoom out and get a sense of scale of the Milky Way and the number of stars inside of it
- return to Earth and show the space telescopes that are used to find exoplanets
- show the different way we can detect exoplanets
- reveal how many exoplanets we have found (over 6000)
- reveal how many could be habitable
- visit an exoplanet and discuss habitable zone
- return back home to Earth
- students exit the dome
