When:
Where:
Mordecai Richler Gazebo
Direction: East (73°)
Facing the northeast, about 30 minutes before sunset, the nearly Full Moon will rise over the horizon.
It will still be daylight out, so the Moon may be difficult to see at first. As it gets a little bit dark, it should appear into view.
The Moon first rises at 4:50 PM, but will be low on the horizon and difficult to see at first. About 20 minutes after rising, it should be high enough to see above Hôpital Hôtel Dieu de Montréal.
As the Sun is setting, in the eastern sky we should see a pink sky with a dark band on the horizon, a phenomenon known as the Belt of Venus. This is the shadow of the Earth being shown on our atmosphere, and will provide a beautiful tabletop setting for the Full Moon.
